Dr Terence Dwyer graduated with honours in Arts and Economics from Sydney University and earned his PhD from Harvard University in the history of taxation theory. He has been a Fellow of the Taxation Institute of Australia for some 40 years (enough time to see a lot of tax history). He is a member of the Australian Tax Research Foundation, the International Fiscal Association and the International Tax Planning Association. He is also a member of the Harvard Club of Australia, Australian Business Economists, a Life Member of the American Economic Association and has served as a Visiting Fellow at the Australian National University. He has been member of the National Tax Committee and Vice-Chairman of the ACT Chapter Committee of the Financial Planning Association of Australia
Dr Dwyer had wide experience in tax and superannuation advising in the Commonwealth Treasury and Prime Minister’s Department. He has subsequently advised Australian and international clients on tax and business planning and has advised on the drafting of business-friendly legislation both in Australia and overseas.

Terry has also been the ACT Law Society’s representative on the Australian Taxation Office’s Legal Practitioners’ Forum which was part of the ATO Tax Practitioner Forum which focused on strategic administrative issues in the tax and superannuation systems to assist tax practitioners and their clients.
